Software

The GACRC supports scientific applications from a diverse array of research disciplines, with the largest collections being in the fields of Bioinformatics, Statistics, Computational Chemistry, and Computational Physics.  Additionally, there are a number of utilities including code compilers and debuggers.  The software is primarily from the public domain, but some commercial packages are also available.  Most analyses are done in the Linux command line environment, but X-Windows graphical applications are also supported through Open OnDemand.

While we encourage all users to install software by themselves in their home directory,  GACRC staff will provide software installations by user request. We will investigate if the requested software package is compatible with our computing environment, then build (i.e., compile) the application. We strive to have updated documentation with submission examples and usage notes. Please let us know if the documentation is incomplete, missing or requires clarification. More information on software packages currently supported on Sapelo2 is found on the GACRC Wiki.

To request the installation of a particular software, please submit an Installation Request, with relevant information.
